The wall gets opened to reach a line. I cut in a clean patch, tape it, match the texture and paint it out so nobody can tell where it was.

Square openings left around boxes, switches and recessed lights get closed, floated smooth and repainted to the existing wall.

Ceiling and wall cuts from duct work get backed, patched and textured so the finish matches the rest of the room.

Once the leak is handled, I cut out the soft board, patch it in, seal the stain and roll the ceiling flat again.
